Back at gym after a short break (injuries)

So I’ve had to take a few days off from my regular gym because I pulled my hamstring (basically). I’ve been in a fair bit of pain which hasn’t been the nicest, walking has even been an issue, and I tend to walk a fair bit. I average about 10K-14K usually.

So I’ve limited my walking, but been active doing upper body like push ups and bicep work which has been quite good, I can feel how stronger I’ve become, that’s never a bad thing.

But back into the gym today properly, my hammy is still a bit sore if I overwork it, so a little uncomfortable now.

Not a big change from my routine, so the static bike for 10 minutes to get the blood flowing then onto stretching where I did some hammy curls to get the muscle warm.

The real workout started when I got on the reformer, with all springs attached (it’s a slide that adds resistance with springs of varying difficulty), I did 120 reps of that in different variations, like heel, toe and arch. That always gets the muscles working, particularly the thighs and quads, but also the calves and shins depending on foot placement.

Ended off with some tricep pulls on the cable machine and that was my roughly an hour session done.

My right leg is shaking from exhaustion and the left hammy is tired and a bit sore but otherwise I feel so much better.

I love training at my gym
