It felt so good to be back in the gym today after almost a month of not going in to gym for a session.
I luckily did keep going at home with my sessions, which helped quite a bit thankfully. The gym has an in-body scale that measures pretty much everything, and luckily according to my measurements I haven’t lost much muscle mass, which I’m super glad about. But more importantly, for me anyway, is that my actual weight was 83,7kg which means I didn’t actually pick up weight but rather lost.
A lot of our actual body weight can be attributed to water retention, quite counter intuitively, the more water we drink, the less water our body retains, funny how that works.
So I think in my case, because I only drink water, coffee or tea, there isn’t an excess build up. I try drink minimum of 2L water daily but regularly get to drink more.
Drinking lots of water is great as it helps gets your steps up too, because you have to walk to the bathroom so often, win win.
But no really it was great to be back at gym. My usual bicycle as warm up, stretch, sit ups, crunch’n’fetch, bicycle crunch, tricep dips, reformer (50 x 2), bench press 20kg on the smith machine (20 reps) walk at 6kph on the treadmill for 7min. There might be a few things I’m missing but that was the basic routine. Along with catching up a bit with my trainer, it was a fun session.
So tomorrow I’ll have a light session at home and them back in the gym on Friday.
