This varies a lot
Everyone has a thing of “this is the best time” or “this is the correct length to exercise “. Now while certain time periods to exercise may be better and maybe a specific rep range is better. It all comes down to time. Do you have enough time to get that “magical” length of exercise in or the amount to exercise.
Like me for example, I do loads of small exercises during the day, every day. Maybe I’ll throw in 20-30 reps 3/4 times a day. Simply because I have the ability to do it.
But not everyone has that ability because many people are way more busy, but short exercises work for me and that’s what’s most important. Doing the exercises and the frequency that works for you.
My basic routine I think everyone should do and what I mostly follow is
20 sit ups
20 crunches
20 push ups
20 body weight squats (or weighted)
20 lunges per side
And that’s the basic full body workout right there, you can add whatever other things you wanna do or increase the rep range to better suit you.
I’ve taken that from my rehab days, that was the basic stuff to aim for so obviously it works at strengthening the body, but that’s a base to expand and build off.
I also generally add bicep stuff and more arm work and core work.
That’s the thing exercising is meant to be an enjoyable escape, not something we hate.
