I read once that getting the appropriate amount of steps in during the day is super important to not only a fitness journey, but also things like weight loss, and even to your mental happiness.
I personally aim to achieve about 10 000 steps a day. I think that’s a healthy number.
Notice I said “aim to achieve “, well I’m human. Get tired and don’t always achieve that goal. But it’s still there, I camping push myself to try get there. So I actually go out of my way sometimes to walk the extra steps for no real reason except to try walk more.
I’ve had so many stories about people who’ve done nothing but eat well and walk and they’ve lost weight, from obese to in shape.
A big part of that is getting the appropriate amount of protein in which in turn helps fuel your muscles to go more, work harder.
I start every morning with a protein diet shake for breakfast, and in that first month or so of doing it, I lost a good portion of weight, then I started putting on muscle.
So I can agree, walking a lot and getting 10 000 steps done in a day (or close as possible)does really help. Not only for fitness but weight loss too.
A win-win.
